McDonnell Shows He Does His Research

In his State of the Commonwealth Speech the other night, Republican Bob McDonnell said:

"Our boards and commissions do great work and are filled by talented individuals. But we have 359 of them and they consume vast support resources and time. This Commonwealth is fully capable of surviving without the Plant Pollination Advisory Board. Call me an optimist if you will, but I believe that plants are fully capable of pollinating themselves without advice from Richmond. "

2011 Project Left Platform: Gun Control

This is Part 1 of a series of the Project Left 2011 Platform; A new plank will be added to the 2011 Project Left Platform each Thursday:

How Do Conservatives Answer Violence? With more violence of course.  Politico reports that since the tragedy in Tucson, Arizona; Gun Sales in Arizona have rose 60 percent.

"But he said it might indicate that some Americans fear tougher gun control laws in the aftermath of Saturday’s attack so they want to stock up now.
“What it shows is maybe gun owners in Arizona and these other states feel that there’s going to be some change in the law, which is what I hope our elected officials” are working toward, Helmke said. "

2011 Election Preview

Since today is the special election, this years election season has just about finished.  So, lets take a look at this year’s general election, which will be for local offices only. Here is whose term will be up:

Roanoke County Board of Supervisors:

Catawba District:

Joseph “Butch” Church: A cookie-cutter Republican, even if his name doesn’t have the R beside it. He has already shown that he will lie in order to help the big businesses that support him, but that’s a story for another day. He is the biggest threat to our liberal values.

Vote Today

Polls are open until 7:00 PM for all of the special elections today in Virginia.  Make sure you go out and put your vote in for Ginger Mumpower.

Endorsements

The board here at Project Left have got together and decided on who we endorse for the special elections in Virginia tomorrow. Here they are:

For the 8th House of Delegates District, we endorse Ginger Mumpower.  Ginger has prior political experience; she served on the Radford City Council.  She has shown fiscal responsibility by owning her own business for many years.  She has already said that she would uphold many liberal values.  Ginger supports our teachers, whom are the foundation of this society.  She has many new great ideas, she wants to expand passenger rail service to Roanoke, which would most surely be a huge boost to our tourism economy.  Another great reason is that she is not a lawyer, Richmond is filled with lawyers and it needs less.

The Many Contradictions of Greg Habeeb

Recently, Greg Habeeb, was endorsed by the liberal Roanoke Times.  Well, that endorsement has been withdrawn.  Why, well Habeeb lied again of course.  He said he wouldn't do something, then the day after the endorsement comes out in the newspaper, he does what he just said he would not do.  So this incident got me thinking, what else has Greg Habeeb contradicted himself on during this election:
