Greg Habeeb's (the republican running for House of Delegates) brother, Scott Habeeb who is a principal at Salem High School is using his position to help his brother win. First I would like to share with you Salem City Schools policy on staff participation in political activities:
"The School Board encourages employees to exercise all their rights as citizens including involvement in political activities. However, no employee shall use his/her position in the school division to promote a political cause, and no employee shall attempt to indoctrinate the students by virtue of his/her position while students are under the supervision of the Board.
Employees may solicit support for political candidates or political issues only outside regular work hours, off school property.
Political posters, announcements, and flyers shall not be displayed on school bulletin boards or distributed through mail messenger facilities. These restrictions shall not apply to classroom bulletin board and displays being used to supplement instructional units.
School employees engaging in political activity shall make it clear that their utterance and actions are theirs as individuals and that they in no manner represent the views of the school division.
Employees who are elected to public office may use personal days, unpaid days, or vacation to attend official functions that are scheduled during their assigned duty time."
So what we can see here is that any employee of Salem City Schools can not make students feel like they have to participate or help out. They must also make it clear that their views are not that of the school divisions. So lets see what Scott Habeeb did on his brothers campaign facebook.

| Comment says: "Way to go, SHS students!" |
So, Scott Habeeb is commending Salem High School students for helping on his brothers campaign. His comment also makes it seem like all of Salem High School supports his brother Greg Habeeb. So, basically he is making all the students at Salem High School who do not support his brother feel like they are not part of the school. He's basically saying "Hey, I like you as a student better if you support my brother, Greg Habeeb, and not Ginger Mumpower." This is an outrage, I would hope the Salem School Board would do something about this. There is no place for politics in a school setting like this. Scott Habeeb should feel ashamed of himself for basically forcing his students to support his brother.
